The song was published in 1971, and we can easily understand the lyrics. Our soul has known for a long time that we need to change, as does the world. John Lennon and Yoko Ono wrote this inspirational song using their intuition. Today, millions of people still listen to this song. There are many reasons to like it-because of the lyric, melody, or video. However, one important point is that, even after 49 years, it still manifests the hope and aspirations of a world we are looking for. This makes the song timeless.<\/p>

But the problem is that too many people only listen to it, without having a deep understanding of it. The global outbreak of coronavirus is a reminder that we have to change. We need to be united and follow the truth of life. It\u2019s time for awakening the soul, and to set a good example for others. Some are about to awaken. They are thinking about changing their lives, and have started to look for the truth of life, and not only for the material world. Living life is similar to going into a mountain for treasure; without soul awakening, we\u2019ll leave the mountain with empty hands. We are made with a body, mind and soul. We take care of our bodily needs, but without knowing the existence of the soul. The life of the soul represents our spiritual world. But we have been living only 50 percent of our life\u2014the material life. It\u2019s just like taking an exam. If your highest possible score is 50%, you still fail if the full score is 100 percent.<\/p>

How to awaken our soul? The starting point is changing to the pure diet.<\/p>

Have you ever thought about why so many influential people in human history\u2014the Buddha, Confucius, Laozi, Albert Einstein, Arthur Schopenhauer, Charles Darwin, John Lennon, Franz Kafka, Henry Ford, Jan T\u0159\u00edska, Mah\u00e1tma Gh\u00e1nd\u00ed, and Socrates\u2014were (or are) on a plant-based diet? They\u2019ve inspired others with their knowledge. Some of them have already taught the truth of life; we may have heard something of this, but it was a long, long time ago. But it\u2019s the same issue as with the song: we heard about it, but don\u2019t live it. We know such truths are wise, but cannot follow them. We want to find a shortcut, but with soul-awakening, no shortcut exists. We have the key to extract the treasure\u2014instructions we\u2019re afraid to follow, which we pretend not to see.<\/p>

The key starting point is the pure diet; we need to purify our body, mind and soul from dusts such as negative emotions, addictions, attachments, desires, and bad habits. All the negative energies we\u2019ve accumulated come from fulfilling our study, work, and family duties. Materials are necessary for our bodily survival, but when we cannot get them they become very important, and we crave them. Continuing this way, we will satisfy only our senses and desires. When desires become bigger and stronger, satisfying them soon turns into a habit, which leads to attachment. When we can’t have what we want we become angry, jealous, competitive, greedy, and full of complaint.<\/p>

“I have a pearl inside of me,
long covered by the dust and hardship.
When it is cleaned and restored,
it will brighten the entire world.”<\/p>

Soul awakening is the process of rediscovering the brightness of our pearl. It\u2019s similar to a drop of water returning to the ocean, its source. The drop knows the way and isn\u2019t stressed; it rejoices in this natural process. It may face difficulty at times, but because of knowing the direction of the way it considers difficulties as upgrading. It also knows that nothing can be bad, in the end.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

During the Han Dynasty, in the third century B.C., an old man living on China\u2019s border lost his horse. His neighbors all said what terrible luck that was, and sympathized with the old man. But Sai Weng said, \u201cMaybe losing my horse isn\u2019t a bad thing after all.\u201d

The next day the old man\u2019s horse returned, with a beautiful female horse alongside him. All the neighbors exclaimed, \u201cWhat great luck!\u201d But the old man responded, \u201cMaybe this isn\u2019t such good luck after all.\u201d
The old man had a strong young son. The boy fell in love with the new horse and rode her every day. One day the new horse got spooked by a wild animal and threw him from her back. The boy broke his leg very badly and was permanently crippled.

All Sai Weng\u2019s neighbors said, \u201cWhat a tragedy! Your strong son will never walk without pain again.\u201d But the old man again said, \u201cMaybe this isn\u2019t such a bad thing after all.\u201d

And so it went that when the New Year came, the emperor\u2019s army passed through the border region recruiting able young men to fight in the frontier war. Because the old man\u2019s son was crippled he couldn\u2019t fight and was left in the village to farm with his father. Sai Weng said to his neighbors, \u201cYou see? It all turned out okay, in the end. Being thrown from the horse and breaking his leg saved my son from fighting in the war and almost certain death. So it was, in the end, a lucky thing after all.\u201d

This story tells us that good and bad things can be transformed, under certain conditions. Whenever a bad thing happens, we need to remind ourselves of this story. Some situations are apparently bad but may have a silver lining. Sometimes misfortune is a blessing in disguise.

Therefore, let\u2019s extract the treasure, follow the first instruction of changing to the pure diet, and IMAGINE the world will be as one.<\/p>
