WHY DO I CHOOSE THE PURE DIET?

Pure diet | Pure vegan food

Pure diet, expands my view of seeing the world.

I was born in China at the ’80s, 10 years after China started the process of reform and open up. The ’80s was the beginning era of Chinese economy growing. At that time, having a TV at home was already luxury. My wish was like most other kids, growing up, buying a pair of trousers from the famous sports brand: Adidas. Then when I went to high school, my wish was going abroad to study, to earn money and become successful, because people believed that: Knowledge will change the destiny and in the western world, there is knowledge to make people successful and change the destiny. At that time, I saw this world as a place to earn money, achieve success, gain knowledge, reputation and enjoyments.

Therefore, I went to Italy to study at university. I had one master degree in science of statistic and actuary: one of the top three majors, which earn a lot of money. At the same time, I had another degree in “No profit Economy”, the major, which does not teach me how to make profits but contribute to others or society. Is not it contradictory? No matter in Italy or China, I started to notice that the some successful, rich or knowledgeable people were stressed or not as happy as usual, people thought, and they were facing their own problems. It seemed that everyone’s life was different, but people were simply repeating the same routine lifestyle: going to school, working, getting married, having a baby, starting a career, getting old and eventually dying. If this is the only way of living a life, that is the value or meaning of being a human?

Why do I choose the Pure diet? | pure lifestyle

Maybe this is the reason why I chose unconsciously “No profit Economy” to study because I figured out maximizing the possession of materials was not the goal of life. Since then, I saw the world as a place where people were looking for how to realize their value of life in different ways, such as career, family, wealth, religions, charity etc.

One day I met two women who introduced to me the pure diet and when I realized the deep connotations behind the pure diet, I changed my diet. I came to understand that human life has three stages: survival, make a living and life. Survival is a financial issue, which is to gain enough materials. Making a living is an issue of wisdom, which is how to have a quality living, how to balance the family and the work and how to have better relationships with people around us. Life is a question of finding the answers of whom we are, what is the meaning of life, where do we come from, where we are going etc.

Pure diet | love towards all beings

I started to appreciate other people’s efforts, which in the past I took for granted. I see everyone as a living being or creature who has emotions and a soul, not a tool or bridge for my own benefits.

I started to value the good qualities of a human being, such as compassionate, trustworthy, justice, kind, wise, which I thought were useless in terms of making money.

I started to love myself, instead of indulging myself into fulfilling my desires; I become more disciplined and keep myself away from negative things, including food, because I understand this is the starting point of loving others. Now I see the world as a place to forge the brilliance of humanity.

In the end, I want to share an inspiring story about a businessman and a fisherman. There was once a businessman who was sitting by the beach in a small Brazilian village. As he sat, he saw a Brazilian fisherman rowing a small boat towards the shore having caught quite a few big fish.
The businessman was impressed and asked the fisherman, “How long does it take you to catch so many fish?”
The fisherman replied, “Oh, just a short while.”
“Then why don’t you stay longer at sea and catch even more?” The businessman was astonished.
“This is enough to feed my whole family,” the fisherman said.
The businessman then asked, “So, what do you do for the rest of the day?”
The fisherman replied, “Well, I usually wake up early in the morning, go out to sea and catch a few fish, then go back and play with my kids. In the afternoon, I take a nap with my wife, and evening comes, I join my buddies in the village for a drink — we play the guitar, sing and dance throughout the night.”
The businessman offered a suggestion to the fisherman.

“I am a PhD in business management. I could help you to become a more successful person. From now on, you should spend more time at sea and try to catch as many fish as possible. When you have saved enough money, you could buy a bigger boat and catch even more fish. Soon you will be able to afford to buy more boats, set up your own company, your own production plant for canned food and distribution network. By then, you will have moved out of this village and to Sao Paulo, where you can set up HQ to manage your other branches.”

The fisherman continues, “And after that?”
The businessman laughs heartily, “After that, you can live like a king in your own house, and when the time is right, you can go public and float your shares in the Stock Exchange, and you will be rich.”
The fisherman asks, “And after that?”
The businessman says, “After that, you can finally retire, you can move to a house by the fishing village, wake up early in the morning, catch a few fish, then return home to play with kids, have a nice afternoon nap with your wife, and when evening comes, you can join your buddies for a drink, play the guitar, sing and dance throughout the night!”
The fisherman was puzzled, “Isn’t that what I am doing now?”

What are you busy for? Is it worth your time, energy and life? Have you ever thought about it?
