Step-by-step

1. Rinse (important for shu pu-erh)

   • Quick rinse (~5–10 sec)

   • Discard water

   • This “wakes up” the leaves and removes any fermentation residue

2. First infusion

   • 10–15 seconds

   • Expect a lighter, smoother start

3. Subsequent infusions

   • Gradually increase time:

     • 2nd: 10–15 s

     • 3rd: 15–20 s

     • 4th–6th: 20–30 s

     • Later: extend as needed

4. Number of infusions

   • 8–12+ steeps easily
