Blessings and wisdom are two important elements in our human life

Blessings and wisdom are two important elements in our human life

If a house is built according to a blueprint, airplanes operate through precise and sophisticated systems, and a company is managed by a leader together with different departments, then our lives must also follow certain systems. These systems influence many aspects of our lives, including our health, career, family, emotions, relationships etc.

When we begin to understand these systems, we can better recognize the roots of our problems and suffering, and then work on them more effectively.

For example: Why are some people healthy for many years, yet suddenly fall ill at a certain age?Why do some people encounter good job opportunities while others struggle to find them?In the airplane crash in India, why did the man sitting in seat A11 survive with only minor injuries while everyone else lost their lives?

Behind many of these questions, there exist what we can call a system of blessings.

Blessings are like gasoline for a car. When we drive on a highway, many factors require our attention: we must ensure that there is enough gasoline, know where the gas stations are, and maintain the right direction in order to reach our destination safely.

Similarly, in life, our “gasoline” represents many valuable resources: health, wealth, freedom, intelligence, the ability to study and work well, harmonious relationships, supportive connections, eloquence, good opportunities, and trustworthy friends.

So the important question is: how can we protect and increase this “gasoline,” these blessings, in our lives?

There is a Chinese saying:

Illness enters through the mouth, and disasters come out of the mouth.

Chinese saying

If we are not mindful of what we eat and what we say, our “gasoline” may slowly leak away without us even realizing it. Eating unhealthy food can damage our health, cloud the clarity of our minds, and weaken our emotional stability. Careless speech, on the other hand, can harm harmonious relationships.

pure diet pasta

I have a friend who switched to a pure diet when she was fourteen years old. She said that her understanding of subjects in high school improved significantly, especially in mathematics, and she found it much easier to focus. Later, when she went to university, many students used alcohol and cigarettes to cope with stress. However, she maintained a calmer mind and managed her time more effectively, completing her studies without relying on any intoxicants.

There is a saying: we are what we eat.

In many ways, we become what we put into our bodies. Imagine a bottle: if we fill it with perfume, it gives off a pleasant fragrance. But if we fill it with gasoline, it can explode.

Why is it sometimes so difficult for us to remain calm and speak kindly? One possible reason is that what we consume is unhealthy and carry negative energy and influence our state of mind.

Therefore, adopting the pure diet can be an important starting point for preventing the leakage of our blessings.

Water pure

If blessings are like water in a reservoir, then wisdom represents the purity of that water. Wisdom guides us in how to use our blessings in the right way.

Some people use their health and wealth to satisfy more and more desires, gradually developing harmful habits.

Some take advantage of their social positions to make use of others, without paying attention to managing their emotions and words.

Others use their abilities or intelligence to make others suffer, planting negative seeds in their relationships and eventually bringing negative consequences upon themselves.

So how can we cultivate wisdom?

Wisdom comes from our conscience. The basic truth of conscience is compassion. In other words, it is the principle: do not do to others what we would not want done to ourselves.

This is also one reason why a pure diet excludes animal products. If our survival or enjoyment of food is based on the suffering of animals or other living beings, it becomes difficult for us to receive greater blessings.

Our thinking becomes limited to a single pattern: sacrificing others for our own benefit. Such a mindset creates separation and conflict.

Only when we begin to think and act in ways that benefit all beings around us can wisdom naturally arise. And when wisdom grows, blessings will naturally follow.
